Set up and optimization of conditioners for better gelatinization

Principles of pelleting, setup, operation and control

Day 3 Field visit and practical workshops at SUNFEED

Walk through a commercial feed mill, Sunfeed, and make observations and notes under the guidance of the facilitators and Sunfeed staff.

Participate in practical workshops to discuss, analyze, and troubleshoot what was observed during the walkthrough

  1. Process optimization. Identify and quantify the opportunities on further improve the capacity of the feed mill 

  2. Shrinkage control. Identify and quantify ways to reduce raw material stock losses and complete finished feed losses by controlling fines, moisture, and returns 

  3. Maintenance. Review the effectiveness of the existing maintenance program, how it is evaluated and identify gaps and improvements  

  4. Impact of raw material and formulation on the production process. Review how machinery is setup based on selected raw materials, evaluate the impact of formulas on production, capacity, and throughput, and the quality of the finished product

Crumbler setup and sieving selection and setup

Post-pelleting coating systems (PPLAs), how to select and operate 

Understanding shrinkage and its financial and quality impacts. How to manage this.

Operational optimization and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

Feed mill design and construction. Conceptualization, choosing equipment and suppliers

Feed mill digitalization and selection of digital and automation systems
